SmartSert™

The insert that eliminates tapping in plastic materials

The SmartSert* is designed to eliminate the tapping stage of the process for installations in plastic materials. To do this it incorporates a specially designed, external fine flute cutting edge which forms the thread as it is being installed.

In most plastic materials drilling and tapping can also cause unwanted deformation making the installation of an insert more difficult. The SmartSert, made exclusively from grade 304 stainless steel controls deformation of the base material during installation to fit the external thread of the insert. This means that a perfect fit can be achieved every time and tricky installations avoided.
